Lazy Dog Loungers was born in 2015, out of a need to give a water-loving dog his own water float. Living on Lake Lanier, Sebastian, their Golden Retriever, was constantly in the water. After tearing up numerous human floats and spending several hundred dollars on replacements, Sebastian's parents and their close friends decided it was time to make him his own float. Initially, they built the floats in their basement, and after 7 or 8 prototypes, they perfected the design for stability, durability, access, and maintenance. Lazy Dog Loungers is a 75% woman-owned and 100% woman-run company, and their durable floats are now manufactured in Cornelia, GA using recycled materials.

Sebastian was the reason that Lazy Dog Loungers was created. He loved the water more than anything, and human floats just couldn't hold up to his nails as he tried to climb on them. So, his human family created a dog float so he could swim, rest, and be with them in the water. Lazy Dog Loungers was born of a dog's love of water and a family's love of their dog.
